Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Molokheya, an Egyptian meal-planning app, including its free features and the optional Molokheya+ subscription. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. The Service

Molokheya lets you browse Egyptian recipes, build a weekly meal plan, and generate a shopping list — free, for anyone with an account. Molokheya+ is an optional paid subscription that adds a personalized nutrition profile, calculated calorie and macro targets, an automatically generated and adaptive weekly meal plan, ingredient substitutions, and progress tracking.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to create a Molokheya account. You create an account with an email address and password, or by signing in with Google. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Each account is for one person's personal use.

3. Molokheya+ Subscriptions and Billing

Molokheya+ is billed on a recurring monthly or yearly basis through Google Play or the Apple App Store, at the price shown at the time of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel anytime from your Google Play or App Store account settings, and your access continues until the end of the period you already paid for. Refunds are handled by Google or Apple under their own refund policies — we do not process payments or refunds directly and never see your card details. New accounts may be offered a one-time, no-payment-required 7-day free trial of Molokheya+; it does not auto-convert into a paid subscription and simply ends after 7 days. Promotional codes, where offered, grant a fixed number of days of Molokheya+ access to the redeeming account and cannot be resold, transferred, or exchanged for cash.

4. Not Medical or Dietary Advice

Molokheya provides general nutrition estimates, meal suggestions, and planning tools for everyday convenience — it is not medical advice, dietary advice from a licensed professional, or a treatment for any condition. Calorie and macro targets are calculated from formulas you provide inputs for (age, weight, height, activity level, goals) and are estimates, not prescriptions. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or nursing, or have specific dietary needs, consult a doctor or registered dietitian before relying on any plan or target the app produces. If you use the app's allergy or dietary-restriction filters, understand that they work from the ingredient tags in our recipe catalog and the preferences you enter — they are a planning convenience, not a guarantee. They can be wrong if a recipe is tagged incorrectly or if you have an allergy or intolerance not covered by the app's categories. If you or anyone you cook for has a severe or life-threatening allergy, you must independently check every ingredient yourself before eating — never rely on this app as your only safeguard.

5. Your Content and Data

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter (profile details, weight log entries, preferences). We use it only to power the features you've chosen to use, as described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: use the app for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data; reverse-engineer, scrape, or bulk-extract the recipe catalog or app code; impersonate another person; or interfere with the app's normal operation.

7. Intellectual Property

The Molokheya name, logo, app design, and original illustrations belong to us. Recipe content is either originally written for this app or based on traditional, widely-known preparations; we do not claim ownership over the underlying traditional dishes themselves. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for your own personal, non-commercial meal planning — nothing here transfers ownership of the app or its content to you.

8. Third-Party Services

The app relies on Firebase (a Google service) to store your account data, and on Google Sign-In, Google Play, and the Apple App Store for authentication and payment. Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

9. Termination

You may stop using the app and request deletion of your account at any time (see our Privacy Policy for how). We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The app is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including as to the accuracy or completeness of nutrition data, recipes, or generated plans. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including any health-related outcome. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above; continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
